The Trip
-Last saturday i decided to go out for a while of my house, mother had been not feeling so well , it means not her real self , not cheerful, complaining and finding fault with things in general she would not do otherwise,
-i have no car and the two wheeler that i used to drive twenty years ago to cyber cafes is standing in the verada corner for lack of repairs, because the original japanese engine it contains throbs with a different note and tenor that duplicate parts can not make it run properly
-i waited one monute in the monsoon humid mid day , summers in punjab are famous for sweetness of mangoes which my mother enjoyed and could not stop eating till she fell sick
-the three wheeler with a piece of green cloth waving like a flag fixed on to its front gave me the hope of approaching auto
-rhe driver was about to take a left turn and i would have missed it so i ran and waved my hands and arms , he spotted me and came towards me,
-the driver lives in my colony and we happen to be familiar by faces
-he was going to a kids school where he picks up small kids and carries them home, he follows a regular routine and a route dropping all kids one by one safely home
-i asked if he had some ten minutes to drop me first in a different direction
-dalhousie road is the heart of our township
-i got down and paid the driver and took his phone number for future use
-today one week later i had used up all my groceries and needed to buy more of that fresh jumbo bread with cheese and cottage cheese and kiwi aloe vera juice
-i rang up the driver , he was free , he had collected the school children in the morning and all the four year olds were not to come out of their schools till twelve
-at quarter to nine i was driving to the shop which on facebook shows open at five and closes at eleven
-feeling better i because mother was not alone at home
-i bought my groceries and lifting the carry bags sat down and reached home
-first i opened the giant sized bread and took out a crusty side slice and lathered it with cheese liberally, panir cube was microwaved and sift and hot sand i salted it lightly tapping it with my finger tips , poured a glass of transparent green liquid with aloe vera pulp and devoured the little snack meal hungrily
